The Green Heart of Africa

In Malebò - an area in the region of Lake Tumba- WWF is developing one of the most interesting project of sustainability in Africa. The green heart of Africa beats in this superb land marked by war and exploited by colonialism. Along the Congo River, the great waterway, which flows through the jungle, stands a little oasis of peacefulness where people live their life in harmony with nature and Bonobo (Pan paniscus) have found a place to live in peace, as if to remind us that a different world is still possible. It was here that the international WWF project, The Green Heart of Africa, was born with the aim of saving the Congo River Basin. Our photographers made their work available in order to increase public awareness and to start up a program of responsible tourism.
