THE GUARDIANS OF THE EARTH

Inside the dramatic environmental crisis that is causing the decline of many fragile animal species, there is a small glimmer of hope. A shine that can help us find the path needed to reverse the no way to extinction: The decline is occurring at a slower rate on lands managed by indigenous peoples, an IPBES report tells us. "On average, indigenous people are doing a better job of managing natural resources and environmental risks such as species decline and pollution." Starting from this assumption, we have developed the ambitious project "Guardians of the Forest," which, after stops in Kalimantan; the Congo Basin forest; Xixuaú in the Brazilian Amazon; and Maromizaha in Madagascar, is looking for new stories of hope to tell.
