THE ITALIAN UNESCO HERITAGE

Where start to tell the “great beauty” of Italy? Accompanied in this project by Touring Editore and Fulco Pratesi (a part of our country's heritage), we chose to begin with the UNESCO World Heritage List. Italy, with over sixty sites, boasts the highest number in the world. The images in this project are the fruit of years of work that led us to travel the country in search of the special light that leads to the perfect shot. The final selection is published in a book (which has already gone through three editions), properly titled "Italy: World Heritage." The challenge was to offer a new perspective on places about which it seems everything has already been said; places that, anyway, never cease to evoke emotion and enchantment. In our shots, we wanted to propose a personal vision of Italian art, also focusing, as is our way, on the territory, on its non-human visitors, and on details that often hasty tourists miss. This is a special project that only apparently took us far from our usual paths. It is an investigation into the beauty that is constantly at the centre of our photography.
