THE LAST GLACIERS

As is unfortunately well known, the environmental crisis plaguing the planet, caused by our species' self-destructive behaviour, is particularly affecting the polar regions and mountainous regions. These areas are warming at almost twice the rate of the rest of the world, causing, as a consequence, the melting of glaciers. The last remaining glaciers in the Alps, the polar ice cap, and all ice-covered areas are at risk, and with them the surprising and diverse animals and plants who inhabit them. A frighteningly uncertain future. Will the wonder of these places persuade us to change direction? Will beauty save this world?
