This photographic story of the Mediterranean's last remaining forests began over 10 years ago, in celebrating the International year of Forests. It is a developing project, constantly enriched with new images. Mediterranean forests, also thanks to their history, maintain an extraordinary biodiversity of unique plant and animal species. Regional and local endemisms are common and some species have a limited distribution, making them fragile and subjected to habitat loss and fragmentation.
